How the game is built
Four parallel stories, a shared war, and a finale that pools everything.
Fortune's Weave is set in the Dagdan Empire, where the winner of the Heroic Games is granted a wish. You play Eshmel, who is sent by Sothis to move between four heroes — Cai, Dietrich, Theodora and Leda — each entering the Games for their own reason. Their stories run side by side and your save keeps separate progress for each.
| Part | What it is | Length |
|---|---|---|
| Prologue: Descent | Two tutorial chapters | — |
| Part I: Heroic Games | One path per hero, 12 chapters each, with Free Time and the World Map | 40+ h for the first path |
| Part II: War | Six linear chapters. No Free Time, no World Map, no subquests | 6–8 h |
| Part III: Salvation | Sections that alternate Free Time and missions | Under 12 h |
Reported totals are about 80 hours for the story, 100 for a typical run and 160 or more for everything. Later paths go much faster than the first: the fourth can take under ten hours because exploration and quests carry over.
How the parts connect
- Finish one hero's Part I and the Strife Obelisk opens Part II for that hero.
- Part II is nearly the same whoever you bring. It must be played once; for later heroes it can be skipped, and skipping still pays out roughly the EXP the battles would have given.
- Part III unlocks afterwards, but only heroes who have finished or skipped their own Part II take part in it.
- To field all four heroes in the finale you need to clear or skip Part II four times.
Part I is where nearly all the planning happens. Renown, recruits, class licences, paralogues and almost every missable belong to it.
