The short version
Questkeep collects as little as it can to work: an anonymous account id, your guide progress and your subscription status. No ads, no tracking across apps, no selling of data.
Your account
When you first open Questkeep, an anonymous account is created automatically through Google Firebase. It has no name or email — just a random id — and is used to back up your progress and hold your subscription.
If you choose to link a sign-in (Sign in with Apple, Google, or an email code) so you can use Questkeep on another device, we store the identifier that service gives us and, for email, your address. Your email is used only to send sign-in codes. With Sign in with Apple you can hide your email.
What we store
- Progress you track in each guide, so it is backed up and syncs between your devices.
- Preferences such as your theme.
- Subscription status: your plan and when it renews or ends, as reported by Apple or Google.
- Diagnostics, if enabled in Settings: crash reports and anonymous usage events (Firebase Crashlytics and Analytics), tied to your anonymous account id and never to advertising identifiers. You can turn this off at any time.
Payments
Subscriptions are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see or store your payment details; we verify the transaction records the store provides to know whether your subscription is active.
Service providers
Google Firebase (database, authentication, functions, diagnostics), Apple and Google (purchases and optional sign-in) and Resend (delivering email sign-in codes). Each processes data only to provide its service.
Retention and deletion
Your data is kept while your account exists. Delete your account and its data at any time in the app under Settings → Delete account and data, or see account deletion. Purchase records needed for accounting are kept without any link to you.
Children
Questkeep is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy are posted here with a new date.
